The number is wrong, I rounded up from 219,671. The point is, with a little prevention many of those lives would have been saved for many more happy years.
Masks are not perfect, but they do help. Avoiding gatherings at the White House helps too.

Unless and until we get a proven vaccine, masks are our best bet. They're annoying for some folks, but most people have no problem with them.

No, they aren't. Masks make people sick, and they contribute to the spread of the virus. FRESH air and our IMMUNE systems are our best bet.
Thousands of people just in my city don't/won't wear masks, and that doesn't count the thousands in surrounding cities who do likewise. There are many problems with wearing masks. None of the people I mentioned wear masks.
