Do you really want the people who run DMV to be in charge of health care?

That seems to be pretty close to what trump is doing now.

I assume you're joking. The alternative would be that I'm responding to someone who knows less than zero about the Federal government.

It is certainly what "The Public Option" would be. I am not sure what Trump has done that is even close. I understand they killed the viability of ACA by eliminating the mandate but that wasn't just Trump. His name wasn't even on the suit. As long as this is a partisan political issue, I don't expect much of anything useful out of Congress and there is millions in campaign contributions driving policy. The Democrats take more than the republicans in the last few cycles.

I know plenty about the federal government I grew up in DC and everyone I knew either worked for the government or they worked for someone who contracted with the government. I spent 18 years in the latter position. I have also been watching the federal government screw up just about everything they touch. It is no accident that Elon Musk is driving the manned space program.

OK, you were joking then. Got it.

More of your "joking". You do that a lot.

Whatever gets you through the day. If you think the government is the most efficient way to do anything you haven't been around long. I forgot, you were in the air force. You think hammers should cost $800 and a toilet seat is well over a grand. I guess when your C5A costs $225 Million, what's an extra grand or two for a nice place to poop? As Proxmire said, "A billion here, a billion there and pretty soon you are talking about a lot of money".

You sound upset. I guess your monthly meds didn't last the entire month.

Tell me again how the folks who run the DMV are the same folks who might one day run the public option, but this time do it without the dementia.

YOu mean the same people who run Medicare? Do you have Medicare? Are you satisfied with it? Compared to private insurance?

But your glasses are clouded. The public option woudl be an option!!! People could choose private insurance too. They would compete with each other.

That was going to be part of my campaign speech, after working as a contractor for the City of New York

Until I got jobs in private industry and saw that they were no better.

Lots of US govt agencies did a great job unti Dirty Donnie started interfering.

It is a f****ng metaphor for government incompetence. Jesus you certainly like to argue.

Yeah I remember "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan".

How did that work out?

Exactly the problem when you elect people to govern who do not believe in government. Put a stop to that and it works much better.

Repubs screw everything up, then complain how bad it is.

You could have done a lot better. A lot of people have trouble coming up with metaphors, but you're really bad.

I'm not sure how I feel about you calling me Jesus. You aren't the first, but it doesn't feel right.

Better yet, *why* didn't it work out? Come on, you can do this. I have faith in you. Show everyone that you can adapt as circumstances change.

We already had this discussion. Max Baucus had his Well Care brain trust write a bill that was a big wet kiss to the medical and insurance lobby. It pretty much promised that things would get more expensive and it was backed by massive government subsidies that almost 90% of the people used to buy overpriced ACA policies. There was no incentive for the insurance companies to keep "your plan" and there was no incentive for your doctor to keep you.

Both promises from Obama were false.

But they were miles better than all of trumps promises combined.

That's irreleveant to what we were talking about.

It's amazing how you guys spend years on one very partially incorrect statement, and then ignore hundreds of lies by trump.
