I'm going to have to really REALLY reduce my DIY - foc says I can't lift or bend or twist my back like a young feller any more. May be limitted to 45 lb lift the rest of my life. I know lifting a 42 lb suitcase to return from holidays hurt like a BUGGER for a few hours so I KNOW I should not have done it. I don't feel like a 73 year old untill I do something that a 73 year old with a fresh (end of October) lumbar fusion should not be doing. No more snow tires on the Ranger - if it snows too much to drive with the all seasons it sits and I take the wife's AWD SUV. I still have to handle changing the tires on it - but that's what sons-in-law are for. Even putting salt in the water softener has become a big production!!

With HF quality likely about every 3 years, or every second time they try to use it - - - -

I'll bet each store, on average, sells less than 2 a week. Likely closer to 3 a month.

Scratch baking a cake is DIY too!!!!!!

There is can't and CAN'T. I've changed more tires in my life than you EVER will. Likely more between 1969 and 1972 than you EVER will.(over 750 pairs each spring and fall) - and in those years with a higher quality version of the HF manual tire changer. In later years I had the opportunity to use both electrical and pneumatically operated "automatic" changers. Balanced with bubble, road force ( Hunter and Alemite spin ballancers), and computerized balancers - and I don't care HOW SMART you think you are, there is no way you will bubble balance - or even road force ballance - a tire as accurately as a good computerized balancer. You might get lucky and get a perfect tire mounted perfectly on a perfect rim but I challenge you to match a precision dynamic ballance to less than 5 grams total inballance - which you CAN FEEL at 140MPH plus.

So I CAN do it - but I generally don't any more because I'm a 73 year old guy with a dammaged back - - - - Liberal, or conservative?? Got nothing to do with it!!!!

Yes, and how about a 15X34 ag tractor tire, or a 15.5 x 24 backhoe tire? or putting the track back on a crawler in 3 feet of mud???? ( That SOME OTHER IDIOT drove the crawler off of - - - ) Admittedly when I was a LOT YOUNGER, and possibly STUPIDER than I am now ( hence my bad back!!)

I did buy four tires a few years ago for previous car Probably won't have to for a few more now. I find it much easier to peel off a few $20 bill that to pull tires.

I don't recall the last time I jacked up a car. At least 25 years. Had a flat in 2013 but my car had Roadside Assistance the they did it on a rainy night.

When Marion says he is going to bake a cake - THAT is Theory. When he does, it is CONCRETE - - -

each mounted on their own set of rims) on each of 2 cars so having my own equipment doesn't make sense (not to mention the space it takes) and IF I get the hankering I have friends with the equipment. Actually down to only one set on the one vehicle and 2 on the other

Breaking a bead takes a lot more UMPH than SKILL

I studded over 1000 pairs of snow tires over 2 years, then had to pull the studs out of about half of them when they were outlawed (about 1971 up here - actually 1972)

I'm not sure who makes batteries for HF.

If the tire has been stored flat (horizontal) and is on the low side of the recommended width for the rim even WITH the bazooka it can be very difficult . carefull use of a tournquet can sometimes help things along - either a rope of a steel band works - but sometimes you NEED a "donut" the right size to get the job done. Lube it up, slap it on, and inflate it - POP!!!!!! - or you can futz around with ether and set the tire on fire - - -

More likely someone had a few sitting on a shelf and decided to unload them. Limitted old stock - but why consider the common sense answer when you can come up with a "own the libs" conspiracy theory?????

Actually significantly more - over 10 times as much HC and 50 times as much CO

and how about all those "flat earthers" who claim man has never gon to space, much less the moon - and all the "blue marble" photos are fake. How do they explain an eclipse? and oh yesm the sun rotates around the earth and the moon is made of blue cheese !! EVERY ONE OF THEM is a Republican or at least a Trump Sympathiser

Non adjustable carbs calibrated for pure gas ran dirty enough on pure gas when the jets were clean and everything was perfect. Pour E10 or E15 in the tank and they run lean - and then the jets get "the greenies" and they get leaner yet - and you get lean missfire - and the HC and CO go through the roof. Then the engine starts burning hotter from being too lean, and the NOX goes up to join them.

A 3.5 horsepower gas mower can emit the same amount of VOCs, NOx, and CO (smog precursors) in an hour as a new car driven 550 km or 40 new cars running for an hour. California Air Resources Board (CARB) states that 1 hour of gas-powered lawn mower use releases as much pollution as a 2016 Toyota Camry does over 300 miles. Gas-powered leaf blowers can release even more pollution than lawnmowers, with one hour of use potentially releasing as much pollution as driving a car 1,100 miles. By 2020, gas-powered lawn equipment in California was expected to produce more ozone pollution than all the cars in the state combined. Gas-powered lawn equipment is a significant source of smog-forming nitrous oxides. And that is "modern" 4 stroke OHV engines. Older L Head (Flathead) engines are worse and MOST of them had adjustable carbs - and 2 stroke or "mixed oil and gas" engines are 50 to 100 times worse than THEM - (leaf blowers, string trimmers, chain saws, etc)

at least one was a registered republican

Mark my words, If "King Donald" gets offed, it will be with a RED bullet from a RED gun by someone who's pissed because he didn't fo what he promised, or he DID and they didn't believe he would (do something so stupid)

And by disbanding the EPA and all the other bovine excrement Trump and the Muskrat and their Minions have pulled they are denying me the right to breath clean air - and I don't even live in the devided states of Amerca. All the s*it from the Ohio Valley ends up in MY air. Then add the anti-vax crap and decimating the CDC and other health controls and we have measles and smallpx and Polio threatening major comebacks - not to mention bird flu ($8/dozen eggs???) - and his INSANE tarrifs - man are you poor suckers in for a rough ride!!!!! - Unlike 20 or 30 years ago, the USA isn't the only game in town - Trump says he doesn't need anything from Canada, Mexico, or the EU? Fine - then we will find other markets. It will hurt a bit for a while, but not as much as kissing TRump's ass - and when it's over and Trump is gone (even HE can't live forever - God complex or not) we won't need the USA market, and TRump will have pissed off every former supplier - and larket - the USA has depended on for decades - and it will take a LONG TIME for the rest of the world to trust the USA again (if ever).

You think he is not forcing you to do things you won't want to do when alittle sanity returns???? Dream on!!!!!!!

ANd the Pepubs claim to be the "religious" ones and claim the democrats are Godless - - - - - -

If it oulasts the warranty they made it too good - there is somewhere to skim a few more pennies from the cost. Also the typical American consumer only looks at the initial out-of pocket expense. Why buy something "better" when there will be more features/toys next year and you need to buy a new whatever anyway to keep up with the joneses - and keep those factories pumping out more garbage - made in China or wherever because Americans won't pay for quality American stuff - if they are even capable, under the restrictions imposed by the bean counters squeezung the last $0.0001 of profit per unit out for the shareholders???

One GOOD result from tarrifs - Americans will get used to stuff being UBER EXPENSIVE again, so MAYBE, at least for a short time, manufacturing will return to the USA - until like the auto manufacturers in the seventies, the consumers will be sick of the crappy quality high priced junk, and the bean counters will decide - again - that having it made off shore will cost less and make them more money - and the customer will vote with their wallets, buying higher quality lower cost goods fom overseas (even with the tarrifs)

So an independent Canada and an Independent Greenland working together would be a LOT more effective than Trump & Co taking over both Canada and Greenland, attempting to rape and pillage both countries. That has been happening for YEARS. Trump hasn't learned anything from his buddy PUTIN who thought he could take over the Ukraine in a weekend with no loss of life - - - -

If you only plan on using it once, and it looks like it will last that long - and it's 1/4 or less what a REAL tool costs, you buy it and use it. Heck buy 2 in case ine fails, and then return the spare if it doesn't.

I bought a hardwood nailer for less than it would have cost me to rent it for the week I was going to need it - then sold it for half price to a neighbor to do his floor - and he passed it on to his brother - - - - we all won!!!!! ( it wasn't Harbor Fright - I'm up in Canada - but it wasn't the most expensive I could buy by a long shot!!
