Jax is still a New York destination and a warm if not hot spot. Did the governor specifically say Jacksonville was to open or did he leave it up to the democrats in charge there?

IIRC Michigan said they would not interfere with religious institutions by FORCING them (Religeous institutions) to close but they were ASKING them (church members) to comply with the rules and guidelines in place.

Likely more effective by not getting the hackles of the religious right up about "separation of church and state" and "government involvement in religion".

The 737 Max may be the safest planes in the air after the dust settles from all of this. They will be tested more, for more different scenarios than any other aircraft in history and pilot training on them will be more extensive.

I know when this was first announced he was talking about the pan handle. If the people in Jacksonville want to pile on, I am not aware of it. That is about 325 miles from here and a world away in culture. I am not sure I have ever actually been there but I know a lot of people who lived there. I always take A1A and avoid it by 30-40 miles if I am going up that way. The last time was 35 years ago. The few times we have driven up north since then we go up 75 and through the mountains. There is nothing on 95 to interest us.

Meantime, Boeing is hoping the virus takes over the new another few months until things are fixed. Not many planes needed right now.

By the time that happens it will be a different plane - and I'm not sure I'd trust it even then. The plane is aerodynamically flawed. It is like the definition of a helicopter - "a whole lot of compromises flying in close formation". If it was a "clean sheet" design it would never have gotten past the first engineering review. It would have likely been cancelled at the concept stage, but as a penny pinching modification attempt everyone held their nose and continued on. The "finished " planes should be either scrapped or re-converted to classic 737s, and a new "clean sheet design" replacement be designed - from the ground up.
