Plumbing ?

So now the plant that was under the leak will have to be periodically watered. :)

I love wallpaper.

My wife and a friend we hired, painstakingly removed the old and prepped the walls.

It is beautiful.

This is not the first time the kitchen was remodeled though.

Over 25 years ago I gutted it and put in 5/8" drywall, walls and ceiling.

It's rock solid.

That's a BIG 10-4! Our house is 46? years old. We've been here 38 years and are the third owners. Other than numerous roof replacements we have had VERY FEW failures. We've replaced every plumbing fixture except the tub - a couple more than once - we redid the Kitchen about 25 years or so ago, replaced the water heater twice, the furnace once (and the blower motor once before that) and the central AC. It was still working fine but the neighbor down the road pulled out their 5 or 6 year old unit when they replaced the furnace and I nabbed it off the curb. Figured it was 40 years newer than my old one, and it was free. My nephew had some R22 left in a tank that was unaccounted for and gassed it up for me after I had brazed all the lines. I replaced all the carpet on the main floor with local Ash hardwood and tiled the front entry

Other than that I switched up to a 125 amp breaker panel from the old

Our $67000 house is now something like a $600000 house and spending anything more on it to dress it up wouldn't make it worth significantly more.

We've had a few good cruises and crosscountry jaunts and look forward to a few more once this whole pandemic situation clears up.

Why?

It's glue-up and no clean out. Screw-on with clean-out would be my first choice. John T.

Okay, the clean out is mostly a feel good item but that's my opinion. The screw on traps can leak because of over- tightening and bumping of objects stored under the sink. The weir of the water is over the junction of the discharge side and can lose suction causing waste to remain in the junction and if the fitment is not perfect will leak. DAMHIKT.

Well, for one I will NEVER install a trap that can't be opened without cutting the pipe because you can then never replace or remove the trap without having to also replace pipe. The only place those half make sense is if they will be inside a wall and inaccessible anywhay - and even THEN it does'nt make much sense when for a few cents more you get one that is SEVICEABLE

Clean-out is just something else to go wrong - I virtually always just go for screw on - easy to remove if you need to clean it out and no chance of the cleanout leaking.

I went to a local True Value yesterday. It was open but had a sign saying to call, tell them what you want and wait in your car. I called and they said to leave a message. A clerk coming out with something for somebody else but said he was too busy to talk to me. Screw it. I left.

I looked up what I wanted at Lowes. Said they had 9 of what I wanted and told me isle and part of isle it was in. Went there and got it.

Ace offers to pull what you want and bring it curb side but you can go in and get what you want. The place was deserted so distancing was not a problem. I wasn't licking the counters or anything but I did not feel like I was in danger. I was being conscious of what I touched and that turned out to just be my credit card and the bag of prepackaged parts I took. I scrubbed up in the car and sprayed the bag.

Why bother to scrub and spray? Aren't you the original "let her rip" guy?

I needed some electrical/lighting stuff and checked online at both Lowe's and Home Depot. The prices were similar but HD advertised free curbside pickup. I didn't see anything on the Lowe's site about curbside pickup- so I ordered from HD.

My local store had part of the order in stock, the rest had to get shipped to the store. I picked up the first half of the order that same afternoon.

It worked really well. They had blocked off a good number of spaces in the parking lot- all well marked with large signs and clear instructions on how to call into the pickup desk in the store.

The clerk came out with my stuff just a few minutes after I called. I popped the trunk, she looked at my order email and D/L through my closed driver's window, put the stuff in the trunk, closed it, gave me a thumbs-up and I was on my way. The rest of the order arrived a few days later and the pickup was a repeat- only this time I only had to wait about two minutes!

You two are simply trolling at this point. Let r Rip is all Trader and his fantasy. I have NEVER said you shouldn't take precautions to be safe. only that shutting down the economy is a bad idea. If you can make up s*it the alleged that I wrote you can always win and winning seems to be more important than fact to you.

I am still waiting for one of you to explain why going to home depot and buying drywall and lumber, that you will usually need help with, is safer than buying a couple of rattle cans of paint or a bag of grass seed. Maybe you could explain that to the ditzy bitch that runs Michigan. (who does allow churches to be open BTW)
