OT guns and ammunitionj

I've known a couple of handgun hunters that used .44 Magnum. They practiced with .44 Special spec rounds so they wouldn't develop a flinch. With game in the sights a couple of full on magnum rounds wouldn't be a problem. I'm a wuss so I do the same with .357.

That's why I like .223, shoot it all day. My 7.62 x 54R gets old fast particularly with eastern bloc milsurp. Those guys didn't skimp on the powder. I bought some Prvi Partizan loaded ammo for the brass and worked up a little more reasonable load.

SP101 with the 2.25" barrel is a real joy.

That's completely wrong. It was only because Obama never had any desire to go after anyone's guns. It's just a right wing scare tactic and it works. People can be very gullible.

They have rather poor publicist then. All I ever see the NRA doing is fighting any gun restrictions.

You suppose wrong. Not that I think more laws would help. We are 250 years too late for that.

I'll send you my Eddie Eagle tape, or if you want a more modern version

As far as nut cases, Biden & Co would include all Republican voters in that category. Inner city persons of color get a pass. Black privilege don't you know.

That's what the media whines about. It doesn't fit their narrative if the NRA promotes gun safety and has a number of excellent training programs.

I suppose you never herd of Appleseed either.

Spend a day or at one of their events. You might even learn something.

The problem probably is that you and the bulk of the others left of center only get their information from the media.

You are proof of that.

I've been loading some 22-250 for my neighbor , all mid-range loads . I try to match factory ammo ballistics since that is what he's been using and he likes the performance .

I played around a lot with my 22-250. I wanted to get a Hornady SX bullet to about 3500 fps and under 1 inch at 100 yards. Finally got it to do that. I did shoot some 60 some grain bullets that were very fast and accurate at 100 yards, but for some reaon when backed out to

200yards the under 1 inch group opened up to about 6 inches. The 55 gr SX never did that at longer ranges. I could get better accurecy with some other bullets, but that was not what I wanted. This is with an older Remmington 700 heavy barrel and 6.5 to 20 power scope.

Whereas you get your information from the voices in your head.

What do you think Fox, Infowars, and all those other sites are? They're media. They want eyeballs, clicks, and advertisers' money just as bad as CNN does.

I know you are a victim of media deception. FYI I pay no attention to Infowars and FOX although I do look at FOX Business. Besides keeping my guns, I want to keep my money.

Perhaps we could go look at the congressional record and see how many proposed laws failed but that would spoil your narrative.

There is no incentive for the media to publish those stories.

Even that is against the law in most states.

Be my guest. I'll be curious to see how many of those failed laws came during his time as President, how many of them were proposed by him, and how much of a stretch it is to say "he wants your guns".

Wait, you don't have to bother. The cries from the right that he wants to take your guns came within days of him being elected, even before he took office, so the count will be zero. Nice try, though.

Even the right wing media doesn't publish those stories. Ever wonder why that is? Could it be that Ed is exactly right?

I just heard a long story at the gun shop how Obama administration put a big crimp in the primer supply by a regulation change to classify wet primer material as explosive. This drove a supplier out of business because of compliance cost.

There was another about lead classification going after ammunition.

You do not need to pass legislation for an agency to act but the agency at its discretion can modifiy the rules.

I was involved with one where the DOT changed a single word in a classification that cost the company I consulted for about $75,000 just to change the word on plackards, packages, labels and documents. It did nothing to make the material safer. It was a monomer previously sold as "inhibited" and new word was "stabilized."

Trump did a lot to get rid of such crap which cost industry millions and did nothing helpful.

A range I belong to had to fill out a form about lead mitigation for employees. It's an outdoor range and there are no employees so the board of directors were puzzled.

You've got me there. If I live to be 1000, I'll never be able to say I heard a long story at the gun shop. Or a short story, for that matter.
