OT guns and ammunitionj

He will when Biden goes after his guns. Right now they are under the delusion that Biden will not do this.

I've got a .50 AE case on my desk that I picked up at the range. You can drop a .45 ACP shell in it. I don't think I need to shot one of those.

I think companies keep comming out with different calibers just to boost the sales.

As one writer put it, there is no practical handgun caliber that is really that much better than another when you shoot someone with modern ammo. Not many are going to carry the Desert Eagle or some of the larger revolvers every day.

I stay with the most popular calibers like the 38 special, 357 mag, 40 S&W, 9mm and 380 auto. Usually plenty of inexpensive ammo and components before the last year or so. At the first of last year ammo companies were giving rebates on many of the bullets. Especially the 9 mm and 223 rifle rounds. Now they are selling for 3 to almost 10 times the price.

Of course not. He voted for Biden.

My son has one and we shot it at my club. I only shot one round. It is nowhere as hard to shoot as you might think but I only shot the one round because it came back and hit me in the forehead. Did no damage but I am on blood thinner and don't like potential bruising or cutting. Son had no problem but another guy at the range shot it and also got hit in the forehead by the spent brass.

Ammo is at least $2 a round and it would cost at least 50 cents a round to reload with copper coated bullets.

I have one in the 44mag. It will also hit you in the head often with the ejected case. I read somewhere that the reason guns started being held sideways was because of that in the movies. The gang bangers just picked that up as looking cool.

You are not suppose to use lead bullets in the Eagle as it will lead up the gas system.

As for me even the 44 mag is impractical to carry around. I just bought it because I wanted to shoot at the range. As big and heavy as that gun is the recoil is almost nothing compaired to shooting it in revolvers. I have shot friends 44 mags in several different revolvers and after 5 or

6 rounds that is all Iever wanted to shoot them. First day out I went through 100 rounds in the Eagle and tried looking in my ammo bag for more.

I don't have a concealed carry permit but have hunted with a .44 mag a couple of times but never got to shoot. I have full power jacketed reloads for hunting but download for range shooting and no problem shooting numerous rounds. With 8 inch ported barrel even full power loads are not that bad.

We all know size of gun matters with felt recoil and the biggest handful I have is a .357 mag snubby. I could not even shoot it for several months after a fall where my thumb got sprained.

If I were to carry, I have a Ruger LCP .380. I don't reload it and after 20 or so rounds at the range even with a glove on it starts to get uncomfortable. Gun only weighs 9.4 oz.

Son also has a 500 S&W which he has yet to shoot. He is more of a collector and has several other guns that have never been shot. I think a lot of people are like him.

All shooters know that many people that have never owned or shot a gun think they are experts on shooting.

Next door neighbor's daughter in law who I had met was shot and killed going into courthouse with a friend also shot. It was friends former father in law who then killed himself. He thought neighbor's daughter in law was a lawyer.

Cut a bunch.

Forensic Files is one of the better shows on TV.

Modern Marvels is good also. The show on right now is Amazing Gadgets Countdown. They happen to be showing Zippo lighters and zippers right now. The top gadget on this show is the mousetrap. The particular one they like is the snap trap.

I knew a man and woman about 45 years ago that had a son. Don't recall how old he was,but not 16 as he did not have a drivers license. For some reason he thought snakes were crawling out of his parents heads and shot both of them in the head with a shotgun.

I live near a town of about 30,000 people. That town is getting bad about shootings. Seems like evey week one or two are shot in the town.

I do have the CCW permit and for the last few years I went to a Glock

43x in 9mm. Before that came out it was a Glock 23 in 40 cal. I might shoot anything in those but carry Hornady Critical Defense.

My favorite is an old S&W 357 model 28 in 357 mag. Usually shoot at targets with some 158 gr SWC loaded to around 1000 fps. Mild and accurate.

Have not had time to do much shooting lately, but did stock up with a lot of components before the virus was thought about. Was just buying things when I thought I found a good deal. Not worring about it going bad. When I bought the 43x I had some 9mm that I had loaded about 30 years ago from the lable in the box. Not a single malfunction in about

300 rounds.

I like my 1934 Beretta. It is easy shooting, fits your hand well and not too big to carry. I can hit stuff with it and maybe that is why I like it ;-) The safety is a little clunky but once you get used to it, you can do OK. The only thing I ever reloaded was 38/357 and .45ACP, mostly .38 wadcutters when I was shooting a lot. I do have some really hot loads in that platform but they are so old I should be burying them at sea. Who knows how that powder is after 40 years and when you are at the edge of the envelope you don't want to be screwing around.

I remember hearing that Obama would be going after everyone's guns, but I guess he never got around to it and I suspect Biden will be the same. Electing a Democratic President seems to send folks scurrying to the gun stores.

Unless the bullets have been stored in places where you would not want to be for extended periods I would not worry about it. I have some 357 mags that was loaded around 40 years ago to the max book load and I shot a few about 2 years ago. Seemed fine to me. Shot some 9 mm stuff that was loaded around 30 years ago in a new gun and everything functioned as it should.

I have some powder that is still in the cans that is over 40 years old and loaded some with it about 2 years ago. Functioned fine.

If you are worried about them, get one of the bullet pullers that looks like a hammer and pull the bullets, dump the powder in the lawn and reload using fresh powder.

I would say send them to me, but I never shoot someone elses reloads. I only reload for one very good friend . That is a 38 special that I load with some birdshot in the plastic 'bullets'.

That was only because of the diligent efforts of the NRA that stopped a lot of legislation.

That't about all the NRA has done. I see no efforts for gun safety or stopping hut cases from having guns.

Dems are still chipping away at the issue. Currently they are blaming guns for increase in crime throughout the country. Has nothing to do with de-funding the police and attacking their arrest tactics and wanting to turn any videos over to the general public for judgement..

Yes, for a small town it sure is. Most seem to be dope related. Few are family members or boyfriend/husband other person.

Many years ago a town near me about the same size had a bar/dance place and almost every weekend there was someone cut very badly with a knife. Seldom a gun.

Only because you are not looking. The NRA has thousands of instructors around the country teaching gun safety and helping organize shooting sports. I was one for several years when I was an officer in the IBM skeet league. IBM paid NRA to get 2 of us certified.

The vast majority of gun murders involve illegally obtained firearms in the hands of criminals who are prohibited by state and federal law from having a gun. Most involve several broken laws that when added up would be life in prison. I suppose you think one more law would stop them? Maybe we should just make murder illegal.

Gotta keep Guns & Ammo in business too.
