A few years ago we were in Maggie Valley NC and they were having a "Slingshot" rally. There were hundreds of those trikes there. I wondered how they handle on unstable surfaces but the guys said they are a rocket sled on rails on those winding mountain roads. It just looked like a cross between a go cart and a sports car to me. Other than having a single rear wheel, there wasn't much of a motorcycle look to them.
Those would be reverse trikes. A trike in many cases is a conversion from a regular motorcycle. Mine is a 900 Kawasaki Vulcan with a Lehman trike conversion. The controls are the same as on a motorcycle with the exception of having a lever activated park brake. It had a spoked front rim. Those have inner tubes. I put a cast rim on it so I can fix a flat out in the open if I need to.

I've never seen the things the women in picture 5 have on their feet. It's a good bet that the HD mask the one guy has cost several times average.
I am aware of the old school trikes. I have seen a lot of them, some even with a VW back end or a custom frame with a V-8. I just thought the Slingshots were interesting.
MT90-B16 on the front, 205/65-R15 on the rear. I believe the OEM front tire is a Dunlop D402 belted bias play.
The Slingshot really pushes my idea of what a motorcycle is. If I were going that route it would be a CanAm Spyder.
And those things are a totally different animal than the classic
2-in-the-rear trike . I haven't ridden one , but I've been told by those who have that they corner better than the classic variety . This one does well enough that I'm pretty sure I haven't reached it's limits . Yet .
I watched the live stream yesterday in the mid/late afternoon . There was more excitement in my bee yard . A few people wandering around apparently aimlessly on a blocked off main street ... Next weekend is Mountains Music and Motorcycles here in Mountain View Arkansas , and I'll bet there's more action on Main Street than there was in Port Dover - and they're predicting a 50/50 chance of rain .

I've got bad memories of those 3 wheel ATVs that were eventually led to a consent decree by the manufacturers. I went to an ATV race where one guy showed up with one. The race was in a rodeo arena so they weren't reaching blazing speeds but he spent a lot of time putting back on its wheels.
I think the Tri-Glide has some ServiCar DNA, but the meter maids didn't get frisky with their ServiCars. The Albany cops did use them during blizzards. Chain them up and they were pretty good.
My first Harley was a '55 FLH police bike that came with a sidecar but I was never adventuresome enough to hook it up. The forks had two positions so you could set the rake and trail for a sidehack or straight bike. Sidecars are definitely a different animal too. I briefly thought about buying a Ural when they were cheap but dealing with the finest
1939 BMW technology was discouraging. I guess the new Cossacks are a lot better but they're not cheap anymore.
They start at 20K. Despite the Buck Rogers bodywork they are sort of like a Miata where somebody forgot a rear wheel and doors. They're BIG.
They were renting them in Maggie Valley but I didn't feel the urge. I would look around where you are, someone may be renting them. It sounded to me like they cost more to rent than the SUV I was driving.
That is in San Francisco but the IRS has a branch in DC. The difference is you get lube on the west coast.
And I do too , which is why I ain't pushin' the envelope too hard .

Well f*ck-me-runnin' now that I know such a thing exists I'll be looking into it ! Because understeer is definitely the order of the day with trikes - not only from my experience but other trikers who have commented on it .
We'll never know ... they don't make one to fit my application . Oh well .
Which manufacturer, the one whoi built the bike and put the front tire on it or the one who changed it to a trike - changing ALL th requirements for the front tire, but not changing the tire???
Or the manufacturer of the Cobraa Trike Tire that made it to address the issues of a converted bike/trike (Frankentrike)??
There is no "manufacturer" spec tire for the application to rely on.
