OT It seems there are 3 ways people check suitcases too big for the airplane's overhead or under seat.
At the entrance to the airport, if the airline has that. At the ticket counter. Or at the gate, the entrance to the plane.
Do you know anything about using the last method? All airlines permit it?
It seems like it would save time, not waiting in line at the ticket counter, and it would involve less tossing around of the suitcase. Yes?
I thought I heard a stewardess say that if you checked your bag at the plane's entrance, you could pick it up at the same place, yes? I would have thought they'd toss it on one of the big luggage trucks, then toss it on the conveyor belt leading to the carousel, but I'd be happy to avoid all that tossing
