Unless I missed it, I'm surpised no one has mentioned that for decades, maybe many decades, long-life incadnescents were available. Maybe since the start of lightbulbs. They were deiign to run on 125 or 130 volts or maybe even higher, and thus 110, 119, 120 did not make them burn out nearly as fast. However they used more electricity for the same amount of light.
The post by you immediately above this one might be about such bulbs, but of course it doesn't mention the extra electricity needed.
What difference, at this point, does it make if we're using renewable energy?

The calculation is not simple. You can calculate wattage assuming the resistance is constant, but as the temperature of the filament is lower, its resistance is higher, so the actual power is smaller.
Iseem to recall mainstream incandescents have ain inverse temperature/resistance graph, namely less resistance when cold and then more as they heat up. This lets them light up just about instantly.

Correct, tungsten is a PTC element - positive temp co-efficient. The hotter it gets the higher the resistance. a "Tungsten Load" draws a very distinct power spike when turned on cold.

A bulb in series at somewhat lower than nominal intensity can be used as a crude current regulator. This effect has been used in simple battery chargers, for instance.
