Lowes Web Site

I recall a problem long ago when they first made the changes, and it was slow as all hell. Now, it seems fine to me. I just jumped all around, checked prices, changed from tools to plumbing, to toilets, to lawn/garden. Seems fine, and my ISP even put speed restrictions on my connection. This is using Firefox, other browsers may be different. I just tried IE, slow and sloppy. Just now I went back and forth between Firefox and IE and IE sucked every time.

I found this post today. It was posted 12 years ago.... Guess what... No improvement. Their site is HORRIBLY slow and makes me want to go elsewhere.

I went to Lowes a couple of weeks ago for something that their web site said they had several of the items in my store. It was not their and when I asked a clerk he looked it up on his phone and said it was not there.

When I recently looked up an item, the website said they had 16 in my store. There were zero in the bay. I found a clerk, who looked it up on his phone, which also showed 16. The bay was empty and there were none up top. He look for a while and couldn't find a single one anywhere.

The clerk said "When items get stolen, the inventory may not get updated for a few days. Could be they were stolen." I looked at him and said, "You do know what we are looking for, right?"

He said "Oh, yeah...you're right. I doubt they were all stolen."

The total weight of the haul would have been over 750 lbs.

I haven't seen that situation in my area, but the opposite situation seems to be fairly common around here, especially WRT dimensional lumber and decking. The web site will say, for example, not in stock at this store (and not in stock at any nearby stores), but when I go to the store I see plenty on the shelves.

I asked a manager and he said they were doing that intentionally but that he expected things to get back to normal by the end of this year. He said setting the online quantity to zero kept some of the homeowners away so that the contractors could get what they need.

Last winter I went to Home Depot for some rv antifreeze, that the website said they had. Two people in squence looked for it for me. It wasn't on the proper shelf and I can't remember if anyone found it. It was really cheap, $2 or so for a gallon.

What did you expect the clerk to lead with? "Our inventory control is shit and the web site is usually wrong" ?
