I may be wrong, but I fear that Trump has done and is doing more to destroy the country than either of those two. By the time Trump is done, there will be no GOP and the Democrat liberal wave will continue. Hard to say for me. I studied chemistry which is politically neutral. When I started work in R&D I was surprised at the number of coworkers, mostly from Europe, that were socialist and most never overcame it.
Don't know if I was ever liberal but as a grad student I was a registered democrat. A fellow grad student who was married and came back to get an advanced degree after working a few years told me that my politics would change when I entered the real world. He was right.
