Last words of Uncle Monster (William Lassiter)?

Mid 60's or so. One of the ways of avoiding the draft for Viet Nam was to go to school to become a teacher. The draft dodgers became teachers and moved to administration. My social studies teacher in senior year of HS 1963 told us how to do it.

Unlike a few others, i do know some moderate democrats that do have jobs and abhor excesses in the welfare system. Extremists on both sides are a bit nutso.

Not for me. My parents worked out that I am impossible to indoctrinate even before I got anywhere near a school.

I did too until I gave up on it and got into computers.

That’s arguable in some areas like f****ng up the environment.

Same here, but it didn’t surprise me given that the countrys they came from were much more socialist than here.

Yeah, you don’t see too many changing their fundamental approach to life after that age.

I never was in the sense you lot use that word.

I never was and never considered doing that and have never voted for our equivalent party.

I do however believe that the govt should be doing what many of you claim is socialist, particularly with health care and with welfare for those who arent physically or mentally capable of working to provide for themselves. But it makes no sense for taxpayers to be paying those who choose not to work. But difficult to provide an adequate quality of life for those who can't work while not allowing others to volunteer to not work.

Mine didn’t.

Bob,

Did you have direct contact; like e-mail, with UM?

I looked on Birmingham obits for any information. There was a "William Lassiter", a Negroid in his 90's(?) that recently died.

I looked in the past year, but did not find another William Lassiter. Maybe his family did not submit one?

I thought I had seen it but looking could not find it again, but this is cool and probably his:

I'd still rather see an M.D. than someone who learned medicine off the Internet.

When the Hippies became Yuppies? Let me think.

Ok, then. My friends and I are too old to have been indoctrinated by hippies, but are a little too young to have been hippies. We were 12 for Woodstock.

Have you seen this yet?

I watched a preview of what is coming and also the first show. This is about teenagers in jail for life. From what I saw, a couple of them should be released, but, a few are where they belong.

There is a segment of society that just does not belong among us.

Wow, that must have been really hard on the "chosen ones". Having to actually work, I mean. I heard "reversible bone spurs on the heels" was a valid excuse later on in history. With the advantage you could stay at home and do drugs, rape underage girls and drink yourself stupid. Permanently stupid. []'s

Just check Fox's latest report on which states pay the most federal tax, and which states suck it up and spend it on welfare. Hint: the latter are RED (does that mean communist?) And then post again. []'s

Back in late '70's and early 80's there was federal law, YCA (youth corrections act) Of age to serve time in adult prisons.

If one, escaped you could not by YCA law to shoot him.

How in hell was the convict guard suppose to know that?! Eventually laws changed. It became okay to shoot a fleeing felon.

Cite Justice Sandra Day O'Connorr. Cops can now shoot unarmed crooks with felony shoes.

Do felony shoes hurt as much as rubber bullets when they hit ? []'s

Particularly with the physical stuff. Just had a skin cancer BCC removed from the back of my hand, first time I have been able to watch the GP doing it. I always realised that he has got a brilliant result, even on the top of one of my ears, but havent been able to see him doing it before.

He's got a few downsides with other stuff. My ankle arterys are well in to the ankle and you cant get a pulse from them, you have to check mine on the top of my foot. I've had to remind him about that twice now, after the physician explained that to me.

And when I got a bit of arthritis in one foot, he started talking about gout. When I asked him why it wasn’t just arthritis, he agreed that it very likely was just arthritis. I don’t get any of the attacks that are typical of gout.

He delivers something like 25% of the babys born in my town.

Nothing wrong with that. I voted for Bernie in the primary too... Disclaimer: our primaries are open and in June. Trump had it locked in May so voting against Clinton in the Dem primary was a no-brainer.

iirc, no local Republicans were being challenged.

Bone spurs and Air National Guard appointments worked best if you had pull. I went into a draft physical cruising at 30,000. The quack took my pulse, which was probably pushing 200, and said "Your pulse is a little high. Next!"

Kids... The Wednesday before the Woodstock weekend I was on a plane for a summer camp in South Carolina. It sucked.

What a crock of shit comrade. Socialized medicine is terrible. Long term care is unbelievably bad!

Oh and from his last words:

"I've been on IV antibiotics since I got here..."

Meaning your profession killed him with a "hospital infection". Death by Medical is the leading killer.

The start of the cold war. It was part of taking us down from the inside.

Soviets took after 1) education, 2) entertainment, 3) new media. We are still suffering from it and we won the cold war.
