GE dryer igniter, etc

Whats most often on these to cause no heat? Im hearing igniter from other users. 1992 DDG model never a problem til now. Rather fix one or two parts than replace machine. Good ge machines that year.

Is there a quick ts test fir igniter before calling random repair dude?

Im handy with electr but rather have info from exper folks here before digging in.

Thx!! Snuffy in cog neato

Only check made so far.... No clicking sound when set to heat made before or after starting drum turning. No flame viewing opening on this model.

Pull the igniter and look for cracks . There is also a string of limit switches in series with the igniter , it only takes one being faulty to prevent current flow .

Thanks. A quick temporary fix is to set a space heater where the air is being pulled into the burner assy. But i need the flow diagram so i can place the heater.

Anyone to help with this?

Open the top control panel and look for the schematic. You might get lucky.

Thx. No schematic. Very odd this one has no basic docs online. Washer same vintage has much tech info.
