Anything interesting going on in your kitchen this evening??
I just got back from the grocery store but not much of an appetite as I've been a bit under the weather the last few days. It will either be fresh sushi from the sushi bar or shrimp cocktail here. If it's the shrimp, some club crackers will accompany it and maybe a side of queen olives, too.
Leftover beef stew. We're in the middle of an early heatwave. The swamp cooler and two fans are on full-blast, and it's still hot. It chills down briefly to the high sixties at night. I'm sleeping under a sheet, but that still feels like too much. :)
68F for instance? That's 20C, in other words room temperature. Maybe a bit warm to sleep in, but not too bad, is it?

Here is was a bit above normal, 95F/35C so the AC was working well. During the day, I keep the house 77/25 and for sleeping, turn it down to
74/23When I lived in CT, that was too warm, but I've gotten used to warmer temps.
It's not quite as hot here as it is in Florida but high temps have been hitting the 90's(F) off and on for the last week. It's starting to get humid, too. I keep the house at 73F/23C when I'm at home. For sleeping the room needs to be cold! so it's 71F/22C at night.
I've lived in SC for almost 17 years and I don't think I'll ever get used to the heat. It does beat dealing with the Winter ice storms and occasional snow in west TN. :)

Tastes vary. I've been in South Carolina in August. I'd rather have snow.
Today we'll see a high of 75 F; tonight a low of 53 F. Monday is supposed to be nice: 69/47 with the humidity bottoming out around 41%.
Snow wasn't really the problem. In West TN we mostly got ice storms; freezing rain that made everything slick as glass. Tree branches coated with ice fell and blocked streets and took down power lines. Driving was next to impossible and certainly unadviseable.
Yes, South Carolina in the Summer can be brutal. That's why we have AC. :)
Those temperatures you mention are what we had in March, April, May. Nice!

We get ice storms, too. But we have tons and tons of salt for the roads and the power company expects winter power outages.
The place I was staying didn't have it. This was almost 60 years ago.
And for destroying the undercarriage of all motor vehicles driven there.
To be honest, I prefer that over sand. In sweden they moved to sand instead of salt and its completely useless.
Salt has many negatives though. In CT they used both but the salt can get into the groundwater. Good plowing equipment works the best.
Well just wait for another rainstorm then and quit bitchin!
