Capital One, no thanks.
I don't think I posted this before.
For years Capital One has advertised No Foreign Transaction Fees, so before my last trip abroad, I got a credit card from them. I used the card and their webpage before I left, no provision for saying one iis going out of the country, no needed.
Get where I'm going, problem with the rent-a-bike, want to know if I was really charged, can't log in unless they send me a code.
Two choices, text or phone call, but only to my American cell phone number. I took out that sim when I got to Europe but even if I hadn't, even if the phone was double sim, the US sim would not work in Europe.
I call them.. Nope, there's nothing they can do.
They've advertised for years that they have no foreign transaction fees, so plainly they are seeking customers who leave the country.
Bank of America works fine. My other credit card works fine. Ebay says "We recognize your computer, no need to enter the password". Morgan Stanley works fine after I call them. Capital One, nope.
Capital One says they can email me a pdf of my monthly statement. Please do. Well, you have to wait until the end of the month. It's Feb
10th. And I have to call each month.
So poor.
