my home payphone don't ring, can I make it ring

I bought a payphone off e-bay and set it up to be my home phone. it's a western electric 1998? it calls out great and receives calls to as long as you know when the person is calling you. but it don't ring? it does have the bells in side but where disconnected. Think I found where they were hooked to. and hooked it up. but they still don't ring. so my question is? where is the right place to hook them up. as I think I may not have the red and black wires from the bell in the right place... someone told me there should have 3 wires red black and a yellow can anyone help me?
