Ruud UGPL Gas Furnace problem

Hello, This is the first time I have posted a question on any webpage so I will try to include all the info I have. I installed a UGPL 2-stage 100,000 Furnace , the coil is a RCSA-048 and the Condenser is a UAND-048. Against my better judgement we installed this in a house that had foam insulation blow on the roof and all exterior walls. I also installed a Honeywell Vison Pro

8000 with a Humidistat Dial installed on the wall next to the T-stat. The fan motor doesn't kick into high speed, like the ODD is overiding the thermostat and staying at a low CFM. That is the problem that is causing this unit to freeze. The way I have it wired is like this; T-stat: Green to G, Red to R and jumpered to one side of Humidisat, Black to W2, White to W1, Blue to Y2 and jumpered to other side of Humidistat, Yellow to Y and Brown to Common. On the Furnace it is: Green to G, Brown to C and jumpered to one side of 24 VAC outside, White to W1, Black to W2, Red to R, Yellow to Y and jumpered to other side of 24 VAC outside and Blue to ODD. I can take all the wires off and jumper Red, Green and Yellow together with the Blue from ODD and the fan still stays in a low speed, wired like that the fan should go into high speed no matter what, according to the guy who makes the crap. So I replaced the fan motor and ECM module like he says and no luck. What gets me is that when I started the unit up 2 months ago wired like mentioned earlier it worked with no problems. So that tells me that it is wired right, but I still think that it could be the problem. Did I mention that I replaced both control boards and the thermostat, not my idea but I was fresh out. I have installed maybe 20 of these systems just not with a Humidistat, so anybody installed one of these before that can point me in the right direction? Thanks

Apparently you have not been to the training that centers on the GPL furnaces and ECM motors. It was worth the time and money spent to attend. Check with your supplier or your favorite Rheem/RUUD rep for the next training session.

BTW... throwing parts at it is *NOT* the answer.

Hey why don't you offer some help instead of a reply like that. No, I have not been to the training on the furnace. And my supplier is the one who threw the parts at me at 8:00 last night. I know throwing parts in it is not the way to fix it I have been in this business for over 35 years but sometimes you just want to jump off the f****ng second floor roof, and you will take it any way you can get it. You ever felt like that? Let me guess you don't do anything against your better judgement. Are you an owner or tech, because it sounds like your just a tech to me another owner would know what it feels like when the buck stops right on top of his ass.

Actually, he is offering real help.

It seems to me that your supplier is as much at fault as you are. Throwing parts at something is NOT the way to get the job done right.

Actually I *AM* and owner and a tech.... I just installed the same system last month with the same stat. Dump the humidistat and use the capabilities of the Vision-Pro.

And you sound like a f***in idiot. Pissin parts at an expensive system is just plain god damn stupid. I dont give a damn if its 8 at night or midnight on a Sunday. Learn your shit or call someone who does. You tossing parts at a system just drives the price of parts up higher and higher because the manufacturer is going to make money no matter what. It all gets passed on. By the way............you've got a shit for brains supplier with no tech support too. Ive got one I can call almost anytime I like. Its called building a relationship with a company. Learn it and dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out you bitchy ol god damn fart. Bubba

Could it be, could it just be, that we, as pros that HAVE taken the course CAUSE WE MIGHT RUN INTO AN ISSUE at some point, resent the f*ck outa some wannabe that cant figure out why his crap that he didnt get TRAINED on isnt working.

If you are not trained, you had no business installing it.

Obviously, you are not.

Sucks to be you, since I know you are gonna reply with another one of these flames like you did to the ONE person that COULD have helped you. You got what you asked for..free advice. You got it...now go figure out if you are posting on a Website, or Usenet..cause Ill even help you out there..it aint a f****ng website sparky.

BTW..Im an owner, and as an owner of a company, Id damn sure have the training to install equipment we would have to go service when it comes back to bite you on the ass for short changing your customer. Also...here is a big ass hint that should tell you that I think you are FOS...I can call factory on an issue, and if they cant figure it out over the phone, I get a nice factory guy that has fogotten more about the stuff than I know to show up and make it work. Gee....now, with your attitude, its no f****ng wonder that no one will come see what your issue is.

Now...sparky..have you tried to wire the damn thing without the HS in there? Guess what? Logic dictates that if it runs without it, you f***ed up or you have an issue with the humidistat.

Shhhh....he prob got the Vision Pro at Lowes, and the model they sold didnt have the humidity control on it.

Even if it did, he probably has no idea how to access the controls to fire it up and make it operational on the stat.
