downpour

finally, after waiting since last fall to test the water catch/diversion i'd put in we had a hard enough rain to test the high water mark, overflow and the drain rate.

i need to raise one side by few more inches and plug the drain a bit more. could capture a few hundred more gallons.

still, for a first test it went well. the garden that used to get all this water looks good too. a few hundred square feet of space reclaimed that will come in handy for more veggies this year.

but best of all it means i can play in the dirt some more to finish this project and move along to the next project on the list.

the rain came at a perfect time too, i'd just finished planting another round of onion seeds and turnips. chard sprouts might be washed out or non-recoverable in some spots. have to scope that out later.
