My screened-in patio has a frustrating drainage issue where the concrete actually slopes back toward the house wall. Whenever we get a heavy downpour, water just sits right against the foundation instead of running off toward the driveway like it should. I really want to fix this without tearing the whole slab out because the screen frame is built right into it and that would be a total nightmare to redo. I was wondering if I coud just use a saw to cut some thin channels into the surface. My plan was to make them start shallow near the wall and get progressively deeper as they move out toward the edge, basically acting like little trenches to guide the water away. Is that even a viable long-term fix, or would it just weaken the concrete and look terrible? I'm willing to buy the right tools and gear to keep the dust down, but I'm not sure if there's a better way to handle a backwards slope that doesn't involve a jackhammer.

Cutting channels into the concrete might seem like the path of least resistance, but those grooves are going to be a maintenance nightmare. They clog with dirt and organic debris almost immediately, and unless you're cleaning them out with a pressure washer every week, the water will just sit in the channel and overflow back toward the foundation anyway. Plus, it looks like a botched repair job and can lead to spalling when water freezes inside those cuts during the winter.
If you want to avoid a total tear-out, look into **polyurethane foam injection**, often called foam jacking. Since your screen frame is attached to the slab, this is probably your best bet because it's a surgical process. A pro (or a very brave DIYer with a kit) drills small holes through the concrete and pumps in high-density foam that expands to lift the slab from underneath. You can actually watch the slope change in real-time and stop once you've achieved a positive pitch away from the house. It's way cheaper than a new pour and won't mess with your screen enclosure as much as you'd think.
Another option if you don't want to lift the whole thing is to install a **trench drain** or a slot drain right against the house wall. You'd have to cut a section of the concrete out along the foundation, drop in a pre-made drain channel, and pipe it out to the driveway or a dry well. Have you ruled out that the slab isn't actualy the problem, but maybe just a clogged or poorly placed downspout nearby? I've seen people drop a few grand on foam jacking only to realize the foundation was fine and they just had a massive volume of roof water dumping right at the corner. Also, if you go the foam route, are you sure your screen frame has enought 'give' for the lift? I'd be worried about the expansion snapping those aluminum fasteners or warping the track before you even get the pitch you want.
