Our installer was supposedly an Elite Dealer, but even they couldn't get a Daikin engineer on the phone for more than ten minutes. It felt like we were beta-testing thier proprietary boards on our own dime while the house stayed at a humid 78 degrees.
After six months of the fans spinning at max volume with zero cooling, we finally forced the company to swap out the main outdoor inverter board. That fixed the error codes, but the system still doesn't dehumidify as well as the old "dumb" Trane unit we had in our previous place. These high-end inverter systems are just too complex for their own good. If you do go the legal route, check your state’s Lemon Laws for HVAC. I'm curious if you've actually looked at your static pressure readings? If it sounds like a jet engine but isn't cooling, that's usually a sign the system is choking on its own air. Have you ruled out that your ductwork just isn't sized for those specific CFMs? Even the best Daikin inverter will fall flat if it's struggling against high resistance. I'd check the return air grilles and filter thickness before blaming the boards entirely—sometimes these 'premium' installers skip the Manual D math and just hope the inverter logic compensates for poor airflow.
