To all those who would like to lay their designs out in 3D before they build you have a new free alternative. Google bought Sketchup last year and of course has made a free version available at

's really easy to build models with this and it costs you nothing to use. There is an online model community at

which already has a lot of different models.
I've been doing solid modeling for over ten years and have to say this is really cool and easy to use.
