Nothing special.

A Wellington bomber crashed during training on the Brecon Beacons during the war. Remains of the aircraft are still on the site, along with a memorial to the crew. Every year the site is visited by a group of people to remember those who died.

I understand the relatives' need to mark the site, but stones that will be covered over within a year or two? What's the point of that, other than sentimental tosh.

Well it was built in 2007 but I don't know how old the satellite image is. I would guess though that the locals know a bit about sand movements in the area. I don't think you can dismiss the needs and actions of the relatives as sentimental tosh though. They didn't build it for you.

It claims to be 2013, according to the copyright notice, which is usually correct.

Not IME, the google maps satellite view of my street says 2013 it's definitely from 2006, the streetview says 2012 and I think that's correct.

Sand movement is a complex science. In general if you put a rock down, the accelarated wind around it clears the sand away. So it may end up parked in a little hole
