Someone was asking about wood-gear clocks a while back.
I just found the FWW with the plans.
It is the Jan./Feb. 1986 issue.
Very good info on designing gears, etc. I believe there was also a follow-up article.

That article was reprinted in the Fine Woodworking Small Projects book, too.
