Vendor kudos

Last week, I bought a General 650 3hp cabinet saw from Tools-Plus in Waterbury, CT.

I'm semi-local, so I was able to walk in and do the deal, which was the first time I'd ever purchased there, and only the second time I'd even set foot in the place.

I actually bought the saw via the web site, with instructions not to ship the saw. I was provided with a contact name and asked when I'd like to pick it up.

When I arrived Saturday morning, my saw was on the dock, with the accessories I'd asked for, all checked out, and ready to go with my name on them. Two employees with a forklift quickly loaded the saw for me, and in 15 minutes I was back on the interstate. Fantastic!

I'll be back! I'd also like to point out to fellow 'wreckers that this place is a real, live, stocked store, with a super staff. I know that some online vendors tend to be drop shipping vapor dealers, but I was impressed with this place. They know their stuff, and the HAVE the stuff, in stock, like massive jointers, stationary belt sanders, industrial compressors, and other very large, cool stuff.

If I didn't have a trailer, I would have stopped in at fellow 'wrecker Walt's CD shop right up the street for some new shop tunes, but the trailer's a bit hard to park. Next time, Walt!
