question about a DeWalt plunge router I have

Hi,

I have a DeWalt DW621 plunge router and would like to find out if anybody makes guide bushings for it so I can maybe get a dovetail jig to work with?

Also, who makes the best dovetail jig? I would like to make drawers and some decorative boxes.

Thanks in advance for all opinions and to all a Merry Christmas......

for the bushings. As for the best dovetail jig, I don't own one but those that do, swear by the Leigh jig. Kinda pricey ($499) but you did say the best, plus add on the fancy options at $250 per template and you'll have a tidy sum tied up.

Porter Cable also makes a nice jig (~$350) but it doesn't have the same capabilities that the Leigh does. Another is the Incra jigs which are also pricey but nice from what I've seen. Personally, I got me an Independence dovetail saw and a set of Marples chisels and a doohickey dovetail layout tool from Lee Valley. Course I'm just a hobbyist so making'em by hand is part of what I enjoy doing. Mine look hand-made too.....;-)

It will use the "standard" Porter Cable style bushings.

I used the bushings from Lee Valley, and have the Leigh jig. It may be $499 LIST price, but I bought mine for $340 last year. Worth every penny.

I also just bought Lee Valley's dovetail bit set for use with the Leigh Jig. Can't wait to try them out!

I used a brass bushing/ring from Woodcraft (labeled for the Porter Cable router) in my DeWalt 621 (for a shelf hole jig) and the bushing and locking ring fit the router perfectly. Sorry for the lengthy URL...
