Just bought a Milwaukee Deep Cut Porta Band saw. anyone have any ideas how it can be set up to function like a staionary band saw?
Take a look at the stand that Milwaukee makes for that purpose and rig up your own.

Well, I usually just clamp mine in my bench vise. However, I should point out that this is NOT going to be a satisfactory tool for cutting wood. Even the higher speed is pretty slow (fast for metal, slow for wood), and, the bands you can get for it are WAY too fine to work well on most woods. Not only that... you only have about 3/4" clearance (straight line) from the body of the saw to the blade line if you are cutting anything LONGER than about 4 1/2". A spectacularly good tool for metal...a pretty poor tool for wood. Dave Mundt
