non slip wood finish

what is the best waterproof but not submerged non slip poly finish

a drying rack with dowels needs to hold onto the clothes etc

was thinking maybe do a rough sand and then apply poly and leave it

another idea was to get that non slip stair tape and put a strip on each dowel

but that means to buy the tape and apply the tape and a non slip coating would be easier and simpler

Take some metal and polish it really smooth. Now apply a few coats of really slick wax. Buff if necessary. Most drying racks will hold the towels just fine, no matter how slick it is.

So don't worry about it. My biggest concern would be moisture, so a poly would hold up just fine. The right wood wouldn't even need a finish.

Of little use for medium/heavy foot traffic, but should be excellent for your application. Paint the frame, etc., without, and the surfaces requiring traction with the mixture. Use the same paint.

ended up sprinkling some silica sand on second to last coat

the roughness is there and it is hard to see

most important is that it holds well
