building a wine box

I am looking for a set of plans for building a small cabinet, say about three feet tall, and when the cabinet doors are opened, the drawer underneath automatically open. A sort of a wine box so to speak. Thank. Karl Dolgener

Do you mean "open" or "unlock"?

Machinists tool boxes will unlock if you open the door. But having a drawer automatically extend would be harder.

I mean to open.

Just brainstorming - use a standard plan that has the appearance you want. When you install the drawer slides, angle them slightly down toward the front so that gravity does the job of pulling the drawer open. You'd have to come up with some way of releasing the drawer when the doors open. You'd also have to attach the drawer front to the drawer at a slight angle so it's flush when the drawer is closed.

Use a magnet to hold the drawer closed, and put the slides on a slight angle as suggested. Attach a rod perpendicular to the cabinent doors at the bottom near the hinge side. The rod should have a slight bend at the end of it such that when you open the door, the rod catches on the bottom lip of the drawer to pull it a half inch away from the magnet (at which point the drawer should open under its own power).
