Grizzly has a 6" extension for their G1019 and G0555 bandsaws. The extensions increase the cutting height by 6" to a full 12" for these saws.
Has any ever used these extensionss and if so are they any good??? particularly for resawing.
(My father inlaw makes violins and this would be helpful in cutting tone woods)

I have the 6" extension on my G1019. I had to grind off one of the locating pins on the extension to get the saw in alignment, but other than that it was fine. The extension allows for a maximum height of

They generally work well with a little tweaking after installation. Bear in mind you will also have to buy new, longer blades and if resawing full height, a good quality resaw blade will be needed.
