Wrong sort of rubbish

Not a good idea. Talking as one who, as a child, suffered for the whole weeks holiday after standing on a piece of glass in the sea.

That has the ring of truth....

I have to agree that the Sea is not a suitable place for glass disposal.

However, I'm not an enthusiastic swimmer so much of my seaside holidays were spent searching the beach for semi-precious pebbles. Eroded brown bottle glass found at Southwold is known as *Adnams*

Youngest grandchild is now showing interest so I must dig out the tumbler and abrasives!

Or the beach is not a suitable place to walk barefoot.

I trod on something as a boy that was unbelievably painful. I was in tears. I never found out what it was - jelly fish? - some kind of venomous fish.

Oh yes! I never got round to acquiring one of those.

Possibly a weever fish. They are common around the UK and lurk just below the sand in shallow water. The venom in their spines causes very severe pain but does not usually cause long-term harm.

Presumably no Romanians living in your area then.

Fly-tipping should be a significant growth industry going forward by the look of it.

My local site has a specific skip for plasterboard. One reason for refusing it is that it'll rarely be domestic (rather than trade) waste. Just a handful of DIY enthusiasts.

A difficult item is those carpet-fixing strips, about half by weight wood or nails (metal). I can't remember where they have to go.

I should have said its only my nearest centre that does not accept. You can get it disposed of at one of the larger sites on production of proof of address..
