fridge mystery

Is there battery backup fridges? A local bod must be the driver of a lorry that collects trade-in fridges, presumably mainly non-workers. On passing his parked lorry this morning, there was a slight hum noise coming from the back of the lorry. Noise was coming from one of the 6 or so fridges that was vibrating as though the compressor was working. On passing by it again, on my return, I was going to check whether the 5 foot long rear radiator tubing panel was warm and note the make and model if viewable from pavement level, but it had mocved by then.

Perhaps the fridge had just been unplugged and the chilled refrigerant was warming up? Could make a noise like the fridge was running for a while after being unplugged. Maybe the people had bought a new fridge but were using the old one until it was taken away and they could swap in the new one into the old space?

I could reach up over the lorry drop-sides and touch the body of the fridge and it was definitely vibrating as normal fridge compressor operation as well as the audible hum noise that caught my attention in the first place.

Was the driver sleeping in the cab? Maybe has a diesel fired heater. Seems much more likely that it was transmitted vibration from something in the lorry than a fridge with battery back up!

Not saying it’s impossible but I’ve never heard of such a thing.

I wonder what sort of noise and vibration would be made, and for how long, if the driver had in some way deliberately (and I suspect illegally) punctured something to let the coolant escape.

He/she lives locally, as a wide lorry not parked in the same place each time, so no idea where he lives. I assume as he was there for less than an hour, and just popped home for tea break presumably. The load of fridges is forever changing, often left overnight with fridges on board. The noise was coming from this one particular 5 or 6 foot high fridge

Lorry returned this evening with same fridge plus another 8 or so. No hum now, "C-Pentane" label on rear, but that was on a Beko one next to it also, could not see make or model of the mystery one. Double door presumably freezer and fridge, at the very top front edge a thin curve of fascia white plastic with three push switches it seems and maybe a small display set in it, if that denotes a make/model .

Been away for a week. Thi was 5 to 6 feet tall, perhaps a regional centre for vaccines or medical samples That lorry returned later in the day with same fridge on board. Using a camera with optical zoom, maker or model along the top weither side of the narrow control panel, on left A Class and on right Frost Free
