Getting EA9 Fault code with the reset button (red) tripped. After reset it goes throughP1 2 3 sequence Trap code sequence starts and boiler returns to normal operation. Anyone familiar with this and is there a "ommon" cause ?

TIA Rob

What does he manual say? A red reset button sounds like an over-heat device. Common causes failing pump or just low system pressure sometimes.

Tim

Manual says:,

E9: Safety temp Limiter in boiler flow has tripped

Remedy: Check system pressure:Check safety temp limiters check pump operation: check fuse on PCB: Bleed appliance:

It was installed 12 years ago. Whats the pump life expectation ?

Rob

Can't remember what make the boiler was but some years ago I was asked to i nvestigate a boiler that wasn't heating the rads and sounded as though it w as trying to jump off the wall. I suspected pump troubles but it transpired the boyfriend had gone round every radiator in the place and turned them o ff to save money on the gas bill.

This morning I discovered the Heat Xchger access bolts were lose. So maybe it was a pressure problem there.
