Mine communicates low battery levels through the control panel, though it's rather keen - some sensors keep working for months after the "faults" show up on the panel...
Does anyone have any experience of the kits that seem to be on the market these days?

I installed a Response wireless alarm some years ago, it is still working well, you just have to check all the batteries annually.

once you have got it to work is pretty good.
