Why do Tescos auto checkout machines always give change in (almost) the smallest amounts possible 5+5+5+5 = 20

it's more likely to be fun when the old ones go out of circulation

I wonder how much all this paperwork costs. FFS, put the stuff to recycle in your recycling wheelybin. Then donate to charity if you wish. Forcing all this s**te is not helping anyone at all.

Those must have been bloody accurate scales to count transistors, or did you just make sure they were at least the right amount?

There isn't anything to recycle. Each purchase allows a customer to give their prefernce as to where the store makes its month's charitable donation.

We're talking about recycling plastic bags. Please keep up at the back.

Waitrose have had a similar system with green tokens for years. ?1000 is divided up in the ratio of tokens received between the three charities.

All types of bags are 5p each. The reusable ones won't make them any money.

They're not supposed to be money making

it's supposed to be a "fine" for forgetting to take your own bag(s)

The use once bags don't cost 5p to make, therefore Tesco has spare money they can give to charity for your "fine".

The reusable bags probably cost 5p to make, and much more as they replace them for free when they wear out, so there should be no 5ps to give to charity, unless the charity donation is at Tesco's expense.
