What is best wireless webcam that is not too expensive?

When I'm expecting a parcel I want to monitor the street outside my house for when the postman walks by, so that I know whether I have to stay in or can now go to the shops.

Since I moved the PC into a different room away from the front of the house this is no longer possible. The distance for a USB extender cable is too great and boosting the signal with interposed USB hubs strikes me as too messy.

So what about a wireless webcam? Of course, Amazon is full of them, but what is the best value? I don't need any super-duper features. Just that it's wireless and I can see the video on my PC elsewhere in the house.

So in a nutshell:

- Wireless

- Good quality

- Not expensive

- Easy to set up

- Does the job

We have the same problem...

Cheapest solution would be not a webcam, but a cam which can plug into a TV.

We have one, but then added an IP Cam, this one - Supra IPC-1, from Lidl/ Aldi about £45 and its been fine.

Wireless, remotely up, down, left right steerable, better than your eyes in the dark, alarm in and out puts, can save photos to a remote site if triggered, accessible from anywhere in the world, you don't need a static IP from your ISP, they provide a site to keep constant track of your IP.

It is a clone of a well known make, so it also works with most software.

Bad points - it distorts some greens to purple, take a few minutes to boot up, it is indoor only, so in your case would need to look out through a window (as ours does).
