what do I look for?

I'm looking to have my small back yard concreted and levelled and also the wall plastered/rendered. I can't do it myself, but what sort of contractor do I look for in classified ads? General builder? Plasterer?

Look out locally for the flat backed or tipper type Ford Transit vehicle with a couple of grubby looking inhabitants driving around checking out properties in your area. Approach them waving wads of money at them and explain your predicament asking them for a verbal quotation for the work. Then ensure that all your valuables are out of sight and the shed/garage is locked securely before they start work (Work will take as long as possible if they are on Day Work) I'm sure they'll be able to offer a First Class Bodge.....errrrrrr professional job.

;-^

Other than that a General Builder would do the job

Make sure they excavate the existing and don't just lay new surface over. I was hearing horror stories this weekend about someone who had had a similar job done and the builder(??) had bridged the house damp course.
