Washing machine, pump doesnt stop

Hi,

I have another problem still.

The pump keeps on running, it empties the drum just fine, but it seems like it cant pump out the last bit of water.

When I inspected the machine, I found that the non-return valce in the hose between drum, and pump does seal tight - it leaks backwards.

My guess is that the pump pumps out the water just fine when there is a lot of water, but it cant pump out the last bit of water. Normally with a working non-return valve that wouldnt be a problem, because the non-return valve would ensure that the drum was dry.

Am I on the right track of assumptions here about the workings of the pump and the non-return valve?

Machine: Brandt/Blomberg WFH 1671

Best regards

Dunno about yours but on older machines the pump keeps on going until the programmer moves on to the next part of the cycle.

Problem solved.

It was the compression chamber (small white plastic bottle on back of the drum) that was very cruddy inside.

15 minutes job to clean it - now machine works perfectly.

And I have used 10 hours cleaning everything else on that machine, and then it just was a 15 minutes job.

Sigh.
