I've got something like this:

is fine when "switched on" in everyday use but when I turn it off, e.g. when recently moving the washing machine to redecorate, it weeps. I know with taps you can pack them with ptfe tape but there doesn't look like there is anyway to do this, and besides, I imagine it is a ball valve rather than a tap. Do I just have to replace it and throw it away or can it be repaired?TIA
