Undersea dressed stone find

Sep 28, 2023 Last reply: 2 years ago 9 Replies

I read somewhere and saw a grainy photograph of of blocks of dressed stone discovered when divers went down to repair an undersea cable, either during the late 19th or early 20th century but I cannot locate it.

I thought it was in Otto Muck's incredible book The Secret of Atlantis but I cannot find it.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

TIA Alan

that was only discovered in 2000.

The world is covered in such places. We know little about them, and little of the times, even if oddities crop up, such as crocodile skeletons in the middle of the Sahara, There shold be an effort to know what happend.

The Natzis at the start of the last century built up fantasies because of such things as the resemblence between Hindi and Welsh. They did not know, and we do not know what caused that, but millions died because it. It all happened before writing was common.

There is not the tiniest shred of evidence that the language changes coincided with population changes. There had been much on TV about whether the changes of languages in England meant that the previous populations were `Eliminated'. I don't think they were, it just so happens that proto-English is more useful, rather like people here finding in the 19th century that the road to advancement is through English.

In my opinion, we just do not know, and believeing in nonsense, will lead to more nonsense, as in the current fake flu con.

Grouchy old man, happy in his shellhole.

Bear in mind that since the last ice age, when squillions of tons of water were locked up as ice and the sea levels around the world were much lower than they are today by about 100 metres, the climate has been warming and sea levels rising. As a result many ancient structures built along the coasts of the time by advanced cultures such as the Romans, Greeks, Cretans etc have become submerged.

Even in the UK, at least in the far west, there are field walls that disappear off into the sea on the Isles of Scilly and a drowned forest around Mount's Bay.

Additionally, ships carrying cargoes of dressed stone might capsize and sink in a storm if the cargo shifted too far.

Hmm. As an engineering apprentice, I had a job setting up the electronic control system for an ice cream *freezing* plant at Lyons Maid, Liverpool.

The site electricians were convinced I was a Cockney despite having been born and living more than 20 miles from Bow Church.

Our village had post War London overspill housing and of course the children joined us at the local school.

Quite, but I think the issue here is that population didn't actually

*change* This was migration across Europe as the ice retreated

There had been much on TV about whether

Yes Ive seen that and it is of course a minefield. Like Africans now also speaking either French or English despite the fact that they have mostly never set foot in either country

Well its not fake, and its not flu

Whether it's genes or memes, there is considerable evidence to support a close connection between the Uk's Celtic fringe and India than the anglo- saxons. Make of that what you will...

No the cable was a transatlantic one. I believe it ran close to the Azores. The stone blocks gave credence to the theory that they were from Atlantis, destroyed about 9000 years ago.

I must confess that this has always mesmerised me.
