Hi All,
I just thought I'd mention that our Zanussi TD-534 lives to dry another day and cost £36 to fix (as *we* don't cost our time as we enjoy it eh) ;-)
The rear bearing had collapsed and had let the drum drop to a point where it was rubbing on the case (horrible one squeak / rev).
I ordered the parts from e-spares and although I think I have since found they may not be the cheapest out there they were very knowledgeable and efficient (instant email order confirmation, email when goods were dispatched, arrived next day, all correct parts etc).
I drilled off the old one and attached the new one with pan head socket ss screws and nylock ss nuts (daughter helped me as you need one arm inside the drum and one round the back etc).
The whole lot went back together very easily and now seems to be working A1.
FWIW, in the interim the missus has been taking our washing up to her sisters to dry and observed her sisters (new) dryer is no where near as fast or thorough as our 10 year old one (so she's glad we have it back in service). ;-)
All the best, thanks to those who helped and have a good / safe 2008!
