I fitted the new one this morning. It was a bit of a faff as the earth terminal wasn't in the same place as the old one, and I had to find a new self-tapper to hold the filter on as the old one was not now long enough. Of course, I had a remarkable number of just too-big and too-small screws which appeared first from the spares box, but I eventually found the right one. It all worked ok on a cold ("freshen-up") cycle, but I'll give it a proper drying test in the next day or two.
