You teach it. Anything with "business opportunity" is almost certainly a spam, for example

Web based forums are a nightmare. It's always endless clicking until your arm drops off just to read a few posts. With usenet its easy to read with a single key press or mouse click for navigation down a hierarchical tree. Plus you can't download and read offline like I do quite often, maybe in a different location that doesn't have any internet access.

Yup. Not for nothing has usenet survived all the razzamataz of the web. If you want to get past the glitz and get to the information - usenet's the way to do it, if only because of the lack of attraction to the sort of people who prefer to have a 40kB picture instead of a sig.

My anti spam prog does it without teaching - and they don't do anything as obvious as mentioning 'business opportunity' nowadays.

The person that posts advice is not liable in most cases, though not all. On NGs people usually are legally responsible for their own actions rather than other peoples. You'll notice the legal groups do not use disclaimers on posts for this reason.

If the advice were malicious that wuold be another matter. IANAL, I just enquired about it one time.

Why not just repost the spam with the word spam in the title. Google will keep it in the same thread but any other google groupies will see it as the title withthe word "spam" in it. I gather most newsreaders can be set up to show threads the same way.

Other online readers such as Mailgate.org will show the list of posts and their headings or titles thus alerting those users.
