That conclusion probably does satisfy Occam's razor; until we find more about the same age, anyway. I agree it is weak evidence, but it seems to be the only evidence we have.

There's plenty of evidence that the earliest Europeans were hunter-gatherers, had dark skins and were lactose and starch intolerant. Light skins only came later, brought by farming people migrating from the Middle East into Europe and who had adjusted to milk and grains in their diet.

Quite why Harry is in denial about such things is a mystery, except that it's consistent with his head-in-the-sand attitude to much of modern science. He is out of his time. Eighty years ago he would have been marching with Mosley's fascists, ironically wearing a black shirt!
