Strip and repaint garage door, advice req

Jul 19, 2007 2 Replies

I have a metal (sort of) roll over standard garage door on which the paint is badly flaked all over the surface.. I need to make a decent job of repainting. Does the team think that I should strip off all the paint useing a paint removal chemical (reccomendations?) and start from scratch?

I'd use a disc sander or angle grinder. If you want to use stripper, shed own brand stuff works as well as Nitromors. I've used a lot of this

I agree, most garage doors of this type have a lot of over-lapping joints were paint stripper can get trapped and thus affect the new paint how ever well you attempt to clean the seams out.
