Does anybody know if it is possible to remove the top and side grills from a Stelrad compact radiator without unplumbing it?

From examination it looks like it but I fear the plastic retaining clips might not survive.

Well, assuming that these are the standard rads from Screwfix (which they are AFAICR but naybe someone can confirm?) then the answer is yes, I've managed it, but it's evidently not intended by the manufacturer - pretty stupid - and carries a high risk of breaking a clip at the end you remove first (so attack the least important end).

If you examine the plastic clips at the bottom of each side at the inlets, you may find that rotating the clips means you can slide them down and off. This will free the metal covers.
