Stannah 420

Just finished installing a used Stannah 420 Solus, straight run with hinged bottom section. I rang the local Stannah service agent for installation details but not a chance of getting DIY INFO from them. After everything screwed down and connected, socket switched on and unit switched on with the chair at the top and the hinged section upright the result is that the chairmotor kicks in and the hinged section drops for about a second, everything stops then the unit beeps constantly every couple of seconds. With the down button pressed and held the unit kicks in for a second then stops. I feel I?m missing something simple, like maybe a sticky switch, I?d like a cct diagram and any ideas would be appreciated. I?m pretty sure I?ve connected everything correctly as it was originally.

The user guide gives various reasons for beeping

battery not charging warning that hinged rail is moving

Seat not moving, maybe the chair control is being used without anyone being seated - there is a pressure sensor. Using the remote control doesn't require anyone to be seated.

Correct, the remote should work irrespective of how the chair has been left - as in arms up down, foot rest or seat up/down.

Using the local control on the seat, the arm rests and foot rest need to be down, it doesn't care about the seat up/down or there is a passenger in the seat.

They have anti-trap / obstruction sensors on the foot rest and where the chair attaches to the rail, for both directions. Beeping when trying to move, suggests the battery is dead, or an obstruction has been detected.

Moving a little way, then stopping and beeping, suggests the batteries are almost dead or not connected, or not charging. 2x 12v batteries in series, so 24v. On charge they should show around 26 to 27v.
