I can try simplifying it, but I'm not sure it'll help:

I can't believe you thought I was saying £10 million is petty, when I was actually saying fussing over not having signed for a package is petty.

The first sentence is easy, I'm saying you interpreted it to mean the opposite of what I said. The second sentence is simply stating the other of the two things mentioned is what I'm classing as small (and therefore petty to fuss over). The third sentence is stating it's petty to take the small problem of things not being signed for, and treat it seriously enough to reconsider a £10 million contract.

I wonder if using double the amount of words makes it easier for you.

I understand completely, a £10m claim could arise from the inability to prove delivery by means of a signature, simples.

Having signed or not signed for something may be the decider in a court case over a $10m contract dispute.
