Shower silicone

I have a cast stone shower tray, that has a leak somewhere around its perimeter (2 sides are Respatex)

So intend to reseal ........... what is best wisdom - cut the top 10mm off, give it a good clean and put in a good new bead. (will make it slightly wider as well)

Or use a silicon remover get a lot more of it out and then reseal.

I used Dow Corning 785 last time .......... anybody know of something better?

Geocell TheWorks - not a silicone, but IME better. Rubbery, sticks a LOT better. Main problems are the coloured versions are dull (matt) compared to normal silicone. Clear looks the same though.
