But they're going to know where I live, because I'm asking them to come to my house to pick the stuff up. I'm no fan of the police, but even they ought to be able to follow up a clue like that.
And is second-hand furniture really likely to be "hooky"? Why would somebody nick it if I can't even give it away?
I agree, though that it's difficult to work out how some of these scams work. What do these e-bay responders have to gain by trying to diddle me out of a ten-year-old sofa? It'd be easier to work for a living.
